No sunspots appeared from December 27, 2017 until January 4, 2018. As solar cycle 24 declines to a minimum over the next two years we should see longer and more numerous periods of no sunspots. ARRL Headquarters Closing Early

ARRL Headquarters will close at 2 PM today (Thursday, January 4), due to the winter storm that is now under way in the Northeast, making travel extremely hazardous.

There will be no W1AW code practice or bulletin transmissions this evening.

Tickets for Dayton Hamvention® 2018 now are available online.

Jack Hammett, K4VV, of Paeonian Springs, Virginia, died on January 2 after a lengthy illness. An ARRL Life Member, Hammett was 78.
